Cold Snap

Well, we knew it was coming…after all, it IS December.

Yesterday our weather began to cool down a bit from highs in the 80’s, to highs in the 60’s and low 70’s for the next week or so.

Predicted lows are in the 30’s and 40’s, with a frigid 24 degrees next Tuesday night, unless we get a reprieve from Old Man Winter.

Gator Bait, who usually spends most of the day and night outdoors, is hunkered down in her sherpa wool bed, and has plans to sleep off the cold spell in her comfy nest.

We are pretty cozy in our Florida home as well. Three strategically spaced electric heaters supplement our ducted propane furnace, and we traded our shorts and capris for jeans and long sleeve shirts for a week or so.

Yesterday afternoon we went to Wal Mart and it was quite interesting to note how people were dressed. You could tell where people were from by their wardrobe…permanent Florida residents were decked out in winter coats and thick sweaters, while those from “the north” still sported short sleeve t-shirts and shorts!

Folks in the campground are taking their time getting around today. Our plans include rehearsing for our Friday night show, taking a long afternoon walk, and perhaps watching a movie after dark.
