Preparing for Take-Off

It won’t be long before my stay in Williamsburg comes to a close, and I will have to leave Bennett and his wonderful parents ~ at least for a while.

It has been such fun spending time with them, just hanging out and watching Bennett grow – yes, I can actually tell that he’s bigger than when I arrived…and to watch my daughter and her husband interact with him and care for him.

They are very loving parents, and Bennett is a lucky boy to be their son.

Bennett is adjusting to life really well, and it’s getting easier to predict when he might have an awake period or need to be fed. I won’t say that he’s on a “schedule”, but then, what baby ever really is!

The past week, my son-in-law and I have taken turns preparing nourishing soups to freeze, so they don’t have to do much cooking between the time I leave and his Dad and his wife arrive for a visit in a couple of weeks. I must say, he is an excellent cook, so I have no concerns about this family getting good nutrition.

My final project is to get the house cleaned and laundry caught up, and of course, watch Bennett so they can get ahead a little on their sleep.

Then it will be time to head for Newport News and climb on a plane headed south. With the weather news I’ve been seeing for the rest of the nation, I believe that’s a pretty good plan.

Grandpa Keifers reports that he and Gator Bait are feeling somewhat neglected, and I hear that Grandpa has been doing a little boat shopping while I’ve been gone, so I’d better get home soon so I can put my two cents into the selection!
