“Official” Tony’s Chowder Song Reveal

Last Friday night was the official reveal to Cedar Key dignitaries, of the “Tribute to Tony’s Chowder”  that Keith and I wrote at the request of Chef Eric, at Tony’s.

If you are a regular reader of this blog, you will remember previous posts on my general inability to appreciate clams, until I tasted Tony’s award-winning clam chowder, that is!

You will also recall that Keith and I introduced the song to Chef Eric a month or so ago, after which he decided to host a private dinner for the mayor of Cedar Key and other city dignitaries who would be interested in our song.

Special guest of honor was my daughter, Becca, who is fully responsible for our coming to Cedar Key in the first place.

Last fall, she told us that she had been to Cedar Key and it seemed like a place that we would fit right in.

Without her, these past five wonderful months on the island, and writing the song for Tony’s would never have happened. Thank you, Becca!

Becca and Mark...guests of honor!

The evening at Tony’s was delightful.

Keith and I entertained as guests gathered, and then we all were served a delightful meal, in typical Tony’s style.

As guests enjoyed desert, we performed our “Tribute to Tony’s Chowder” song, which you can hear if you click on the link below…

Everyone enjoyed the song, and just for fun, we repeated the performance so that guests could sing along.

The gathering wound down around 9:30, and Becca, Mark, Keith and I took a leisurely stroll down to the Black Dog for an artisan brew on the deck overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.

  1. Great job you two!

    • Thanks! We ate that chowder with Laurie and Matt last night….tasty!

  2. I enjooyed the clam chowder song. It has just enough bounce to keep that toe tapping and the words are great.

    • Glad you liked it, Charlotte…we had a lot of fun writing it!

  3. […] We have been fans of Tony’s Chowder since we spent the summer in Cedar Key, Florida, and wrote this song, but this was the first time we tried the canned variety……we are here to testify that […]

  4. Excellent way of describing, and nice piece of writing to obtain information concerning
my presentation subject, which i am going to deliver in school.
