Almost Home

It’s Sunday morning, 9:48 a.m. Mountain Time, and we’re on the road for the last leg of our journey to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, where we will spend the winter at Riverbend Hot Springs.

Last night we stayed at a little gem of a campground just inside the city limits of Dalhart, Texas.

Corral RV Park is the perfect place to stop for a night while traveling. It’s located right on Highway 54, with easy-in, easy-out access.

The owners have designed the park well. The ground is flat, and covered with pea gravel, so you can just pull in and set up for the night without unhooking your tow vehicle.

The park is clean, with a shower and laundry facility, and at just $20 a night for full hook-ups and cable TV, there isn’t much more you could ask for!

Our trip yesterday was delayed about an hour and a half, as we had to take the fifth wheel into the dealership where we bought it, in order to have a faulty converter replaced.

Luckily, it was still under warranty, or it would have cost us $300 for the part, plus labor!

We are looking forward to settling in to our new digs later today, and Catty Jones will be even more grateful, as it’s been three days since she has been outside, and today she is just a bit cranky because of it.

She’s quite a trooper, though….and most of the time while traveling, she sleeps on her favorite blanket on the truck console between us.
