“Sonny and Cher” at Cafe Groovy Gritz!

With Halloween falling in the middle of the week this year, we decided to make our show last Friday night, the official Halloween celebration at Cafe Groovy Gritz, complete with a costume contest and seasonally appropriate tunes like “Monster Mash”, “Purple People Eater” and “Haunted House”….the list goes on, but you get the idea!

In this spirit, Keith and I dug out our Sonny and Cher wigs, vintage 60’s style outfits, and LOTS of eyeliner for Cher. We donned our costumes and drove the few blocks from our home to Groovy Gritz, and entered to an already packed venue, with a good number of ghoulish patrons enjoying a fine meal.

We opened the show with Sonny and Cher’s hit, “Baby Don’t Go”, and moved on to “Old Time Rock and Roll” to get the place hopping.

We had as much fun as the audience, and the evening passed in a blur of music and laughter, as costumed revelers appeared through the doorway to join in the fun…

Brenda, the owner stepped up to the mic to award prizes for scariest, sexiest, most original, and just darn the best costumes, and we ended the show with our rendition of Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show’s “The Cover of the Rolling Stone”.

Then it was time for a well-deserved beverage and hanging out with friends.

Good Times….Happy Halloween from T or C!
